LCDA tendering out demolition work on its property at Jalan Haji Taha

KUCHING: Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) is in the midst of issuing tenders for the demolition work on one of its properties at Jalan Haji Taha here. Abandoned building is now a cause of public concern. The building to be demolished is an abandoned premises but there is already a feeling it can be a potential for various forms of social ills including drug abuse and robbery, according to Kuching North City Commission (DBKU).

DBKU in a statement said it has received a complaint from the authorities of a nearby institution of higher learning that the abandoned building owned by LCDA is now a cause of public concern. DBKU also said it is a good listener to public grouses when it comes to factors of social ills and nesting place of dangerous animals and reptiles. A quick check by The Borneo Post yesterday on the abandoned premises confirmed that it is indeed an eyesore.
